FOXY LADY'S SUNDAY MAIL
Tuesday next is Shrove Tuesday, when traditionally everyone went to church to be "shriven", ie to confess all their sins and cleanse the soul. The following day marks the start of Lent, therefore everyone would use up all their eggs, flour etc ready for the Lenten fast, hence pancakes became associated with the day now more often known as "Pancake Day". In the UK people "toss" pancakes, ie they flip the pancake in the pan, to make it turn over so that they can cook the other side of the pancake. I never thought I would be able to learn this thing "The Computer" And now I live on it!!
