Merry Christmas

24th December 2010

We wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

It is nearly time everyone and if there is anything not done, too late, sit down with a cuppa and welcome in Christmas Day.

I am whizzing around giving the sites festive touches and creating anew game for those who tune in over the holiday period.

Merry Christmas
We have, against all odds, got things more or less ready, with a few decorations - you can't have too many with the bird dive bombing things and the cat trying to nest in the tree, can you? Kitten cat is determined to get the tree and I have to sleep some time so we shall see how we go there, I think.

Honey is cooking the dinner this year so tomorrow I should have a restful time, but you never can tell, can you?

Wherever you are and whatever you do I wish you a safe and happy Christmas.

This sweet little cartoon was sent to me by a friend!

Christmas Day 2010

Happy Christmas everyone. I do hope you have had a great day and are ready for the peaceful Boxing Day turkey clear up.

I had the luxury of someone else cooking, but there was virtual war in the kitchen and I was more than happy to cringe behind my screen and pretend I was not here. The meal was absolutely divine though.

The only part I had anything to do with was the Yorkshire pudding and would you believe the darned thing did not rise. However, the second batch, made after the meal and for the freezer, rose like a dream!

I had a true abundance of fantastic presents this year and it is so lovely that I had more fairies for my collection and also a haul of chocolates and champagne! Add some wonmderful Lavender smellies and the latest Patricia Cornwell book and you could say I was well and truly spoiled. I could get used to this, I really could.

We cooked a meal for Web pages Dust Bunny but he has gone AWOL. Never mind, it will keep.

I treated myself to an upgraded membership on ButterfliesnRoses and a membership of the wonderful Jacquie Lawson cards site and tomorrow I shall have to click like crazy to replenish the Paypal but these things will give me great joy for the year to come.

The guests who had been expected have not arrived but they will be here some time in the next few days and we shall be ready for them. We have a small shop here food wise, giggle.

We are expecting further snow and made sure we have enough of everything - we are even stacked to the rafters with cat food.

Having got used to her cave Kitten Cat is really happy with it now, choosing to sleep there during the evening before the nightly assault on the beds and the toes which lie beneath the duvet, little Ratbag!

So for once peace reigns in the Hotel California, chalk it up, because it doesn't happen often!

Boxing Day 2010

We are all too stuffed with food to move and extremely laid back celebrants.

I have been pootling round the sites and am delighted to find that a lot of people have entered the inter site contests, which is really encouraging.

I have more or less settled on the design for whatcash and am now battling to work out the style sheet. The beauty of working off line is that I can make as many boo boos as I like and nobody sees them!

Time management is very much on my mind this week, the time when I can rest and reflect on where I want to go in the next twelve months.

The sentiment expressed by John Lennon "So this is Christmas and what have you done?". Exactly!

I have spent most of the year supporting friends and family and adopted a cat to add to my delinquent menagerie, setting in motion pet wars between Kitten Cat and Little Lady and losing the right to sole occupancy of any bed or chair Madame Pussycat requires!

I did not finish Le Novel but I did acquire two more sites and finish a design course.

I also got the shop online after much huffing and puffing.

Oh yeah, I nearly got the flat decorated too! Just one wall in every room but the bathroom to go.

So I suppose I can't really complain. We have had two great days, nice food, good company and reasonable entertainment with a full house of guests lined up for next week.

If your Christmas has gone half as well as ours has you are truly blessed and ready to see in the brand new year next week.

27th and 28 December 2010

Doesn't Christmas tire you out! We are all half asleep here, except of course for that dynamo of activity which is Kitten Cat and who caused the launch of a search party today.

If she does not return to the rattle of the treat tin we consider we are in trouble and off we go. She sauntered in a couple of hours after we stopped searching, cleared her food dish and collapsed into her cave!

I am spending these last few days of the year tidying the sites and sending out more games.

29th December 2010

The official address of this residence is Hotel California, Bedlam! I kid you not if you can think in here today you are a better human bean than I am!

Apparently Honey has managed to transfer something or other onto the MP3 of Pocahontus and there are about 1,000 tunes which are going to take a lot longer to get off than they took to get on.

Since I am not even sure what an MP3 looks like I am as much use as a chocolate fireguard in all this.

When she recovers from this trauma Honey will show me how to use the camera and at last I can get back to putting items onto the shop.

I personally had loads I wanted to do ready for the New Year but it looks as if I am going to get off to a slow start in 2011 due to the constant visitations of friends. However, let's not knock friends, where would we be without them.

The second Christmas game is now underway and if you fancy participating the link is below, "fun2" but you can only win a prize if you are a member of one of my sites. Since entry is free it won't cost you anything either, so win-win!

30th December 2010

Well, we got rid of the snow and got fog instead. I suppose Mother Nature thinks a fair exchange is no robbery but i would rather have had cloudy!

There seems to be some problem on line today as there are a number of sites I can not reach and Honey, who accesses different sites to myself, not being involved in pay to read, has a number she can not access either.

I may have found somebody to design the logo for my sites, I have seen the most super logo on another site, and what I have in mind is in no way like that logo, but I like the style. We shall see whether the owner will allow me access to the designer, hope so.

The wheels fell off my wagon big time in my attempt to get back to regular writing - we all overslept and none of us saw morning at all!

Try again tomorrow!
I nearly acquired another cat today, one followed Kitten Cat in and wanted to stay. Heavens it is bad enough with the two leggeds, without the four leggeds joining in!

I am putting the finishing touches to my advertising rates to advertise on this site, so if you want to beat the rush do email me now if you would like to advertise at an enhanced rate. Can't be bad!

Tomorrow is New Years' Eve, a time to look back over the year and remember absent Friends and Family. See you then.

Happy New Year

31st December 2010

Usually my last blog of the year is a reflective piece reviewing all the things we have done. This year the thing I have done five minutes ago is wipe out the logo from zodiac-ads so you can imagine the panic that is going on here whilst I try to get it reinstated!

Not a drop of alcohol has passed my lips since it is not yet midnight, so no, my chuckling fans, it is not a touch of the pie eyed magic but my usual talent!

I don't think 2010 was easy for many people. There were so many extremes of weather, floods, snowdrifts, earthquakes, eruptions and fires that there is virtually nobody totally unscathed by the wrath of Mother Nature.

In spite of it all we managed to keep plodding on and in ptr land although there have been some sad closures of programmes, more programmes are being created and there is still a lot of fun and a little cash to be had as part of our clicking hobbies.

Site wise the plan is to redesign Whatcash, Zodiac-Ads and Cashfold, and to develop a few standard lines for the shop.

I wish everyone a much healthier, happier and more peaceful year in 2011 and look forward to hearing from so many of you, your mails do make my day.

On a personal front I still would like to move to the coast and get at least one book published. I do not really wish to add to my menagerie but am at serious risk of gaining another cat who seems to think this is home sweet home, and I may have to start a worm farm. Dear Little Kitten Cat has been bringing in little presents from the garden all day, and we are not sure we have found them all. Fortunately I am not phased by worms.

The other serious personal aim is to acquire a passport for the first time in my life! So watch out world, Foxy Lady just might go global!

1st August

Hello and White Rabbits!

Already we are in August and at the height of the British Summer. Where does the year go?

I have started the month off nicely by winning 50 cents in the Clixsense grid game, the highest i have ever won there. If you wonder what I am babbling on about why not visit Clixsense!

If you are already a member of Clixsense and, like me, you find that you cannot use the toolbar, here is a tip. Stay logged in and keep an eye on the "view ads" button when you are clicking on other sites. You will be able to pick up on more ads.

A bit of excitement today as the Postman actually did arrive and so did a free sample of the new Redbush tea and since I am out of teabags until the groceries arrive tomorrow this was a great boon. Until I tasted it. Sadly I give this product a resounding yeeeeeeeeeuk!!!!

I shall see if Marjorydaw likes the stuff and she can have the rest of the teabags, and if not will see if anyone else likes them.

2nd August

Well I have been really ill all day and Marjorydaw came round to see a very white faced Foxy.

Kitten Cat excelled herself in the wind up league by bringing in moths to flutter all over Majorydaw, who absolutely hates that, and then bounding all over Marjorydaw in pursuit of the moth. Sitewise we have ironed out the click climb problems on Zodiac Ads so that if another site with a Click Climber this month. I also managed to get some Alert Pay so I was very, very happy about that, as was the Member who has been waitng for me to pay her from Alert Pay so that is everybody happy!

4th

We have had an abrupt return to the traditional British summer, with a welcome drop in temperature and not so welcome torrential rain.

Kitten Cat is absolutely disgusted at this turn of affairs and is not communicating me in any way whatsoever.

I am working on a new design for FoxyLadyNews which will be crisper than the present one the shall be redesigning Zodiac-Ads so all go on the creative front.

17th

This is one of the last times you will see this design, the new design is at last complete and being checked for boo boos and will go live.

I have had a hectic time against the odds trying to complete the design. I seem to be in visitor-magnet mode!

My stepson has acquired a large, build like a concrete monument but thankfully very soppy dog. As you can imagine someone is not at all happy with this development and she is letting everyone know it!

I have been bought new tea, sugar and coffee caddies and I managed to get the discontinued but matching biscuit barrel from eBay so when (WHEN!!!!) the work on the boiler is finally started and finished the transformation to Foxy chic can be quickly accomplished.

Locally they are planning to build a large Lidl store, which I do not think would be much fun for people who have lived for years in a very sleepy street, but it if does get built it will be just great for me to zip there on my scooter, so I am not sure whether I am for or against. Sometimes I think investment in existing "corner shops" would be just as beneficial but then what do I know?

I have had some more free samples of those horrible red bush teabags and nobody else likes them either so I guess we shall be sticking to our usual brands, giggle.

Keep watching the mail because the all new Foxy Lady News page will be coming to your mail box very soon!

1st July

White Rabbits and Happy Canada Day!

I finally cracked the affiliate pages and Foxy Lady News is the next site for a tidy up and new look. Also the shop is going to be back on line, having been taken off for restocking.

I have finally managed to get Virgin to give me a PAC number so I can transfer the number to my new Blackberry phone.

I have made numerous calls to Virgin since November, when I was inexplicably unable to get a signal within the flat and so was Marjorydaw who also uses the Virgin network.

Ask them for a PAC number and suddenly they are interesting in solving your problems. If only I had known it was that simple!

I am so pleased with my new lilac curver Blackberry phone it is almost insane but that is one of the privileges of getting older I suppose, over appreciating things.

Half the family jet over to Spain in the small hours of the morning and I have to start to apply for my Passport now because next year I am going with them and other members of the family will be house sitting Kitten Cat. Hola!

5th

I had a great night. Woke up needing a pain pill, switched on the kettle t make a hot drink and pffft! No electricity.

To reset the electricity I would have to access the cupboard in the communal hall and keep pushing the switch, which is eight feet up, with my walking stick until it reset and I thought that just might wake the whole block so I had to wait until this morning to do that, and now I have very disgruntled fishies who have had no filter or pump for the past few hours.

I have spent an hour on the redesign of this site, until I became cross eyed and decided that is enough for now. Though I say so myself it is coming along very nicely and I think it will enhance the site.

26th June

Finally I am beginning to feel better, and just as well as there is just so much to do on the sites.

There is no tennis on the television today and we have had the most perfect summer's day. Tomorrow the tennis resumes and the monsoon is forecast to resume also, and it isn't even St Swithin's Day yet.

I am more alert today so I put the ingredients into the bread maker and made some fresh bread. It really is an excellent piece of machinery and has only let me down once, predictably on that mockers-making occasion, making bread specially for tea with guests!

The bread was a disaster! It looked like a large, brown stone, and was probably as hard, we did not chance it. I had to buy in bread.

Nine loaves I have made now, and just that one failure.

6th July

We have more traditional British summer weather and Kitten Cat remains absolutely livid about this!

It was darker at nine o'clock in the morning that it has been at 10 o'clock at night and we have high winds once more which means there is a gale blowing in here too as the four legged fresh air fiend goes beserk every time I close the window.

I have had no post for two days so I suppose we have a relief postman again, sigh.

I found some nice summery items to put onto the sites so I have been doing that, and have paid some Members on Zodiac-ads and Whatcash, so we have a few happy bunnies gamboling about and dodging the showers.

I boxed up all the basketware I have and am amazed at just how much I have accumulated. Guess I shall just have to control the buying urge in that direction since I can comfortably host for a dozen now.

I have received some more money via TopCashBack and if you would like to get cash back on the things you buy every day, why not click the banner at the side of this page and join too. It costs nothing!

I notice I have over 1,000 mails so I suppose I had better toddle off and see whether they need answering, sigh. 7th July

Absomolutely freezin again. The fresh air fiend is sitting there with her backside on the windowsill inside and her front paws on the window sill outside, just to stop me closing the window!

We have a relief postman yet again and it may be coincidental but yet again I have had no post for days.

Mother's glass case is ready to go into storage and Kitten Cat has a new place to sleep since the space beneath the cabinet is now also free. She just loves to sleep in any newly revealed area and it will be fun to see if she tries to access the new fish tanks, before they are filled, naturally.

I have bought the rewards plug in for another site and it is up to the Members to make the fun discovery so I am not saying which site, I'm mean like that.

Onwards and upwards, and then to the most popular part of the pay to read world - a few pay outs!

23rd June

I have been very quiet because I have had a bad week battling my illness which has totally floored me.

Ever helpful, Kitten Cat has been bringing in special presents for me. Maybugs. I have an illogical and total phobia of these harmless beetles and good old Kitten Cat has been dropping them onto the bed for me to inspect.

As a calming ploy this is not working!
4th July

I hope those of you who are celebrating to day have a wonderful day and night and enjoy yourselves to the full.

I had a post full of the joys of Summer and then the inevitable happened and the connection and google mail led me a merry dance all day.

OK that did mean I could enjoy the Wimbledon tennis with a clear conscience, but it had not been my plan.

Speaking of things not going to plan, Saturday was a corker!

Chaos was supposed to be visiting but no sign of him so settled down with the laptop and then he scared the bejavers out of me racing into the lounge and asking if I have any money.

That is ALWAYS a good one, but since it is nearly four weeks since anyone took me out to the bank, the only cash I had was five pence and penny pieces, giggle.

Next thing I know he had raced outside again, tearing up the carpet in the car to see if anything has slipped under the carpet whilst more sensible little me knocked on the door of Web Pages Dust Bunny who saved the day with a temporary loan.

It transpired that the car had an MOT test within the next five minutes! Just to be really helpful all the ATM machines in the vicinity were down!

I later discovered that the reason he had been over four hours late in arriving was that some total idiot had been racing up the wrong way of the motorway and then crashed and thrown himself off a bridge.

Sad for his family but a terrible scare for a lot of other people.

I am pleased to say the luck then turned and the car sailed through the MOT, phew!

I have acquired the sweetest little pink mouse to use with the laptop and now everybody wants one! Wish I could buy a few wholesale, I would make a mint.

11th July

A rather challenging weekend because although Sky claim weather conditions have absolutely no bearing on my reception the weekend was rainy and overcast and my connection did a vanishing act.

To lower my blood pressure I decided to sort out some of the button collection and this worked a treat until four paws decided to alight on the ottoman and sit on the buttons, scattering them to the four corners of the room.

She did look funny, though, trying to give that snooty superior cat look whilst her rear end was slithering about all over the place because of the buttons, giggle.

I was also blessed with visitors, some of whom are always terribly interested in everything I do and who can suggest a number of ways to do the same thing faster or indeed not to do it at all because it is a waste of time - bang goes the blood pressure and crack goes the jaw trying to maintain a fixed smile . . .

My cousin and myself have a problem in trying to use his new fangled chip fryer in that neither of us can fathom what to do with the handle when the lid is closed, but I am sure somebody will soon put us right on that.

I always read the Daily and Sunday Mail so I have been collecting their vouchers and keying them in on line. I already had a £5 Tesco voucher and today a £5 Waitrose voucher arived. I do hope they continue this promotion because it really is a super way of getting back the money I spend on the newspaper, and you could say I am fair happy with that.

Funky Lady is not so happy though as I bought The Paid Help and I can't even get the programme to unzip, let alone understand how to use it, and she kindly offered to help me to use it, without realising just how very blonde I am, giggle.

I am still desperately seeking some Alert Pay funds so if anyone fancies buying anything and paying with Alert Pay please email me at the site where you bought the advertising and you will get a freebee thank you.

18th July

Well I have been having an interesting time. According to the techies the weather has absolutely no effect on my connection. Which is why every time there are storms and heavy rain I have no connection.

I am not the only one having problems though because the BT techie van has been up and down the street like a yo-yo.

Therefore it can be concluded that the same weather conditions which have no bearing on my connection have no bearing on connectivity in general. what planet do these technical advisors live on!!!!

Sitewise I have been trying to do something with the timer bars and it just will not work for me, so Anglo Saxon has become the first language in this household and Kitten Cat just knows something must be really annoying me and is walking around with that smug expression only achievable by a cat.

We had a veterinary emergency with SuperDog and a very anxious 48 hours wherein he was admitted and injected and managed to pass a blockage successfully and we did not have to suffer the anxiety of surgery and neither did he.

Apparently the problem was caused by a dog the size of a pony being unable to pass a small bone! It also transpired that somehow on his forays in the garden he had managed to gollump down a whole crow . . .

You couldn't make it up, could you, sigh.

We two-leggeds are older and wiser for the experience, not so Superdog who was having a tug of war over a stolen plastic bag only yesterday.

I am still desperately seeking some Alert Pay funds so if anyone fancies buying anything and paying with Alert Pay please email me at the site where you bought the advertising and you will get a freebee thank you.

26th July

I have managed to get into all sorts of trouble since my last post. The connection continues in Jeckel and Hyde mode and I think iit may be something outside affecting things because the further from the window I have the computer tthe more consistent the connection.

I virtually crippled myself a few days ago. First I had to endure three falls, a submission or a knock out (and she nearly managed that too!) to get the Frontline onto Kitten Cat. Knowing I was going to be well and truly in the doggy doo for this heinous crime I had sneakily puchased a new Cat Haven toy at the same time.

Well, being sneaky gets you into all sorts of trouble. To my absolute horror the thing arrived in pieces and I was expected to put them all together. If you are disabled in any way, get the help on side and in residence before tacklng one of these things.

I lost the use the fourth and fifth fingers of my right hand, the feeling in my right foot and was in so much pain I would have welcomed a zimmer frame to negotiate the flat.

Just to put the tin hat on things, the structure is unstable when she goes mad - and what cat does not - so I have to hold the things whilst she is going mad and then of course she tries to spear my fingers as part of the game. It is going to be weighted down as soon as somebody can get round here to do that for me.

However, she is delighted with it and I have a lovely photo to go on here later.

There is still no date for the work on the boiler to be carried out and I am continuing to pootle through everything to see what can be put onto eBay as soon as everybody comes back from holiday and I have someone to go to the post office to post it for me.

This problem will soon come to and end with the arrival of my snazzy pink scooter and I cannot wait for that! Silly things we take for granted such as posting letters will once again be something I can do all by myself!

I have been spicing up the sites and the timer bars have all be updated and look rather super. I am still trying to obtain some Alertpay, so if there is anyone with Alertpay funds who can help me there please do contact me.

29th July

The road to Hell is paved with good intentions and that goes double if you give a home to a needy cat. You can't live without them but you nearly have heart failure when they thump their big, furry hide onto the power off switch.

For nearly two hours I had the fastest connection I have had all week, everything was going swimmingly, I was flying through all I need to do.

Then in came Kitten Cat. Crash!

I suppose this is feline revenge because I have been making the rain come down, sigh.

I have had more invitations from the Open University to study but as you know I swore I will never take a course which winds up during Christmas week, ever again! Therefore the study does not start until February.

Hopefully the will have finished the work to replace the boiler and the lounge will be re-papered, the desk will be back and if the connection is not sorted out I am likely to go totally doo lally tap.

Those of you who are saying I am there already will be deleted, giggle.

16th June

Happy birthday Chaos!

Since the date is shared with my Parents' wedding anniversary not a date that can ever be overlooked.

Orindarily June is warm and sunny and a great month to celebrate, until Wimbledon fortnight, but it has come early this year and it is freezing cold and wet and kitten Cat hates me. I cause the rain, you see, in her little catty brainbox.

I made another batch of pay outs on the sites and am getting along well with the tidying up of this site, probably the mew look will be unleashed next week.

~I received my online grocery shopping today and yet again the fish food could not be supplied so the big boys are going to have to have flake until I can get some, which will please them not and they will be banging the sides of the tank like a brass band.

I have a new blackberry phone and I cannot make head or tailo of it so I am going to have to wait for Marjorydaw to come and shed some light on things as she has the same type of phone. It is an absolute wonder once you can get it to work!

10th June

It has been a few days since my last post, probably the longest I have not posted since I started this blog, but as ever summer brings chaos and mayhem by the buckeload to the Hotel California.

To give you a flavour of what you have missed these past few days -

The Hotel California has been shooting the 2011 version of Sylvester and Tweetypie, with Kitten Cat in the starring role and Foxy Lady capturing and releasing the reluctant Tweetypies back into the great outdoors.

Not all of them have been smart enough though and I am certain I have not one but TWO sparrows hiding out somewhere in the kitchen.

Since my main helpers are moving house (yes, again!) and my lovely Treasure has fallen and dislocated her shoulder, things have to wait until someone is able to move the cooker, fridge etc just to check them out.

I did not bargain on this when I took Kitten Cat in, but at least she just bats them about with her paws (no claws) and no bird has been injured during their involuntary auditions.

Chaos and Car Mechanic Dust Bunny have finished one car and fingers crossed it passes the MOT next week then they start on car 2 aka The Spare Car. Any way up I have to buy some more bathroom towels - black ones!

WHY do men with oily hands ALWAYS pick the white towels? Drives me crazy.

I have had two sets of family moving house which has brought its own dramas, some of which are now sub judice which is a shame, they would make great reading . . .

I have been spending a lot of time on my sites, improving them, and have bought some new plug ins. When I installed one of them the result was a HUGE notice on my site telling everyone I had stolen the plug in. Priceless to the few Members who managed to catch that one.

So there you have it in a nutshell, some of the wonderful goings on at the Hotel!

10th May

I have been working hard on the redesign of whatcash and really doing very little else so you have had a rest from my witterings - but no more! The tricky task if almost finished and her am I!

I have a piece of luck in that some earrings I had had my eye on were reduced from &¦65533;45 to &¦65533;17.50 as it was the very last pair. Now how lucky is that to be looking in their window at exactly the right time! They are dingle dangling in my ears as I type!

I have also acquired a "Treasure" to come in and do some of the housework and that will ultimately free me up to witter even more! Wow, how good can it get, giggle.

As soon as the link to the all new and rejeuvenated Whatcash is ready it will be posted here, so watch this space!

16th May

Well things have speeded up a bit here but I am so exhausted I am spending far too much time asleep!

The back garden is ship shape and the front garden will follow suit as soon as I have more strimmer wire.

The bed has been taken down once more in preparation for the building work and the day before it actually starts some items will be removed to storage.

I am pootling through and repacking boxes, recycling anything that has passed its Foxy date. When the work has been done at least one wall in the lounge will require redecoration and then I shall have a new carpet and let's see Kitten Cat claim that even whilst it is being put down. I shall have to be watchful to avoid that bump so popular in cartoons, that of the cat UNDER the carpet!

Whatcash has been finished now and there are just some little details on some of the member pages. Yes, that IS Kitten Cat hanging onto the logo.

Everything is taking a lot longer than usual because I am falling asleep whilst getting pages ready so they have to be read many times and I still make the odd mistake to the delight of my fans.

It is the seventh anniversary of my Father's passing tomorrow so I don't suppose I shall get as much done tomorrow. Maybe I am being fanciful, but on a couple of occasions the smoke detector has set off for no reason and stopped just as I approached it, then started again as soon as I turned round, and I interpret that as a sign that Father has breezed in.

18th May

Well I got through Dad's anniversary yesterday and Marjorydaw came round in the evening.

Kitten Cat excelled herself in the embarrassment stakes firstly by ignoring all calls within the flat and then shooting out of the lounge window when Marjorydaw and I were searching the front garden in order to retrieve her.

When captured and picked up she wriggled and moaned as if I were going to murder her. Hah! I am the one who wears the bruises in this partnership, and they are all paw-shaped.

Once in the flat she made a bee line for my part of the sofa and curled up ensuring that all claws were in the cushion, which as cat lovers everywhere know, means that the cat is immovable.

I think we made our point that we are a free critter and if we cannot wander we will make you pay.

As to the sites, I am going to neaten up FoxyLadyNews and there is a new logo being designed as I type. Exciting or what!

19th May

I am back into a routine again, which can only mean the next darned thing is hurtling in this direction.

The redesign of Whatcash took longer than I expected and it sort of threw everything out of kilter but it was well worth it.

We have sunshine today which means Kitten Cat is luxuriating outside and I can get on inside. I have not been too well so the progress is mostly on line but weather permitting the front lawn is being tamed at the weekend. I am hoping that the Lily bulbs I have ordered arrive before then so they too can be planted. If they are planted now I can apparently have blooms this year and Lilies and Freesias being my favourite fragrance along with Wallflowers and Sweet Williams, which my Father grew just for me, I am really looking forward to a room full of fragrance later in the year.

My cut flowers do usually last quite well but if anyone has any suggestions as how to prolong the length of time they last once cut these would be most warmly welcomed.

">20th May

Another on line day interrupted and practically shredded. My "Treasures" had to change their day at short notice but the windows are clean and almost rid of the wretched egg white and the front garden is lurching towards respectability, much to the well voiced fury of Kitten Cat.

She has "accidentally" scratched me on the lift off from my lap and has jumped on the seriously painful part of my leg with sadistic accuracy.

I have finally got online but - disaster! Dirk Gently is on the TV!!!

Having read and laughed myself silly enjoying the books, this I must see, and although it is only 12 minutes into it I have to say they are doing brill!

I tried to activate the affiliate pages on Whatcash but have done something not quite right as they are not quite connecting. This should be sorted tomorrow so if anyone fancies buying one hurry on in!

I found some super new images for the sites yesterday so plenty of new things will be appearing over the new few days.

There will now be an unscheduled episode of on line availability as I just HAVE to watch Dirk Gently! Not quite as chaotic as the book but great fun, giggle

22nd May

We know that it is free listing weekend on eBay because naturally the connection throws a vanishing act. True we have had some windy and wet weather but that should not really affect things to that extent.

Frustration lives here as I try to get all the items on and the pictures refuse to load because of interrupted connections. This has a knock on effect on everything else I am trying to do but at least there is some light at the end of the tunnel in that at least 3 items are going to be walking out of here next weekend. And counting.

I have started reading the JavaScript textbook and already have a whole new dictionary of jargon and abbreviations but at least so far things make sense.

I like to work sprawled out on the sofa with all my papers around me but somebody is very annoyed that there are high winds which ruffle her fur so she has stretched out and is taking up almost the whole three seater sofa. She is a tiny little thing too, I don't know how she manages it.

Affiliate mails are for sale over at Whatcash and FoxyLadyNews is the next site for a face lift and in spite of the rotten connection progress is being made!

For my fans who were interested, yes, I did enjoy Dirk Gently very much. He is not quite as I imagined him from the books but I laughed all the way through the episode, as I laugh all the way through the books, and I am looking forward immensely to the second part.

25th May

I have been having an extremely exciting and exhausting time.

My additional Carer has escorted me whilst shopping and I had the best time shopping for a long time.

I am colour blind so need assistance in the right direction because what I think is good is often absolutely eye dazzling to the rest of the human race and between us we picked what everyone else seems to agree is a very attractive tunic.

We had a really good time but of course I collapsed soon after I got home.

Today I have had visitors all afternoon and more are due to arrived in the morning, complete with a large but still young puppy, and I wonder what Kitten Cat is going to think about that!

I have already been asleep and woken up again and the little monster is still outside so it is a good thing I have my bug buster now. I don't like killing things but I like being bitten even less so the device is a must.

There are still a few minor tweaks to do for the Whatcash site and then FoxyLadyNews is going to get a new look. Already the logo has been created and I think it is stunning, so plenty of reasons to keep watching this space.

27th May

We had a terrific storm yesterday with deluges of water but not much lightning but it interfered with both connectivity and my TV.

I had a sulking cat who was certain I was responsible for all the wet stuff and a crushing headache which I generally get when there is a storm.

I was determined to try to use the breadmaker, after all there is very little physical effort involved, and nearly fell at the first post when I could not get the plug to plug into the socket as the plug was too large.

Am I glad that I persevered and finally twigged that I had not removed the protective plastic packaging from the prongs of the plug. I would NEVER have lived it down if I had returned the appliance!

The instruction book bangs on about the importance of measuring and the dire consequences in inedible bread if instructions are not closely followed, so I was a nervous wreck when putting the ingredients into the pan. The machine made a heck of a racket at first and naturally I panicked that I had put the ingredients in in the wrong way, but apparently that bedlam is perfectly normal and soon subsides to silence while the bread proves. However, when you have never used a bread maker it really does sound as if the thing has conked out and then there is an anxious wait for the three hours to see what you get at the end.

To my great shock it produced a really good looking and edible loaf! It needs a little tweaking but it certainly surpassed all my expectations.

I am so chuffed I thought I would show you the loaf, and the other photo is of the beautiful rainbow which appeared following the storm.

We have a bank holiday this weekend so anything could happen here, and probably will!

29th May

Well a flurry of sales on the free listing weekend has led to a suitcase worth of items heading outwards and a frenzy of searching for the right sized carboard boxes. I KNOW I have them but where, oh where, have my Helpers put them?

I have more or less put a stop to the fun and games of searching for bubble wrap and padded envelopes - these now reside in the ottoman and I think you and I are the only ones who know they are there. Oh, except for Kitten Cat who naturally was very nosy and had to inspect the contents very thoroughly.

I am making more bread today, or rather the bread maker is. I still miss the kneading and knocking of seven bells from the dough, but I have to admit the machine is absolutely brill. Just measure in the ingredients and leave it to it!

I have had a bit less success with the golden sponge though. Exactly the same ingredients. Exactly the same measurements. This time the thing has erupted like Vesuvius and there is cake mixture all over the oven as well as in the dish.

I am not going to be popular with whoever ends up cleaning the oven, and that is for sure.

Tomorrow is a Bank Holiday here and Memorial Day across the pond.

This day will be spent in time honoured fashion here. Car Mechanic Dust Bunny and Chaos calling a car all the names under the sun as they struggle to repair it. Ah, the sweet sounds of summer . . .

April

3rd April

Happy Mother's Day to all of you who are Mothers.

I wish my Mum was here. She refused to have big bouquets of flowers but would allow me to send a single red rose. Mother's Day was always a very special day.

It has been bedlam here and I have been rather ill as a result of over doing things. Happy excitement totals me in just the same way as stress so it has been really frustrating to be spending a lot of time either asleep or not really able to do much in any case.

The washing machine is wonderful and it works! This time I ordered from Co-Op Electrical online and their installation crew are top notch for courtesy and making the whole event enjoyable.

There was a panic the day before delivery because I had paid to have the old machine disposed of and the new one installed and when I read the small print the old machine had to be disconnected and placed outside in the garden but Car Mechanic Dust Bunny roared to the rescue and all was ready.

The old machine was in the front garden for all of half an hour before being stolen, presumably for scrap. Dagnammit! Had I known I could have saved myself the disposal fee.

I was in half a mind to report the incident but I did want to get rid of the thing. However, it does make me wonder how secure any item in the garden may be and I am re-thinking my plans to buy a garden bench.

I have a very aggravated Kitten Cat in that she is terrified of the new heater which I bought mainly to keep her warm, she detests the new washing machine and she hates my gutsies because I gave the sofa the Febreeze treatment and presumably it no longer smells of Kitten Cat.

She has staked her claim to the armchair, which escaped the treatment and she glares at me as if daring me to do anything to the chair.

Just to add to the fun the mailer on WhatCash has become clogged and I have had to have help to get it running again, so if you are a Whatsit that is the reason for the lack of mails these past couple of days.

So all in all a frantic start to April with the hope that things will settle down now.

4th April

My step son and his fiance have moved into their new home today so there is another blessing. All the chicks are now in their own nests and long may they be blessed with trouble free lives.

Meanwhile I shall be gadding about like there is no tomorrow on the exhaustion free days and making up for lost time!

I have had a really calm day here and actuallly able to get on!

Boring for you to readm, but oh! bliss!

7th April

I have been having a little sulk because I have been told that my deterioration is only to be expected and I am not going to get another remission. OK, it is only rheumatoid, not something serious like cancer, but I was hoping for a bit of a reprieve.

Anyway having kicked myself back into action I am back on the getting straight trail and pacing myself more to avoid the total coma sleeps. Boorrring.

The Landlord changed the lock on the communal door today. So now I have to get more keys cut for my carers. That store keeper must love me, one of his best customers since the locks are continually being changed.

My old friend the Royal Mail is up to its tricks too. I queried the non delivery of some clothing and was told the delivering agent could not access the block. Well, since we have all been around this week they didn't try very hard and strangely the card which they leave has been conspicuous in its absence too.

Kitten Cat is happy though, I got some Purina One for her and she absolutely wolfs this down, I have to ration it and alternate with the (very expensive) wet cat food which currently she is turning up the delicate nose to.

Chaos is supposed to be here tomorrow, causing - chaos! If there is time amid the busy whirl I shall collar him to go to look at scoot9th April

Well, yesterday was certainly chaotic but for once it was not Chaos who was causing it.

We started off with a major panic. For the first time ever I have lost my bank card, and I was supposed to be picking up some reserved items so I needed to withdraw some cash.

What a palava stopping the card and getting my money.

Chaos is pretty sure there won't be a second time I lose the card.

We entertained our public when we were shopping in the pound shop. There was a straw bonnet with a white bow which will be ideal to wesr in the garden during the summer and which will replace the one Kitten Cat "killed" Having a full basket Chaos plonked the hat down on my head and we wandered round the rest of the store with me wearing a hat from which dangled a price string which kept bouncing off my ear.

I suppose it looked crazy but we had no spare hands and it prevented the hat being crushed, the label could not be removed until after we were through check out, so actually it was the most sane solution.

I had to go back to the car halfway through the expedition and I rested up whilst Chaos galloped round the rest of the shops.

We had some lovely beef slices from Greggs and then the day went pear shaped.

A friend who Chaos was going to visit decided to come here instead and hogged the modem, my desk and half the room together with Chaos's attention for nearly nine hours.

He got ratty every time anyone needed to talk to Chaos and even more ratty when Marjorydaw turned up to visit. I don't know what had gotten into him but by the time he left it was time for Chaos to leave and take Marjorydaw home en route.

Fortunately Chaos had given the lawns a hair cut earlier in the morning, but nothing else on the chores list got a look in!

I was so exhausted by the day I flopped into bed the moment everyone had left and knew nothing about anything until late this morning.

I have taken the hint and rested up today.

I have had a little treat though, I decided to try an orange and apricot loaf from ASDA and it is absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend this one and shall be buying again, most definintely.

ers. That should lighten the day for the lucky person who gets us, giggle.

10th April

Still exhausted so not a lot getting done but today is Sunday so I have my Mail on Sunday to paruse.

Marjorydaw is coming round tomorrow to help me measure up the bathroom window. I want to order a blind but it is worse than adding a column of figures, every time I measure I get a different result!

Site wise the mailer on Whatcash is still stuck and the wonderful Tony from TGB Enterprise.com is helping me to resolve this.

Funds are on their way so all sites will see some pay outs this week, yippee!

11th April

~A busy day today and when I can get the photos to go onto the computer I have a super one of Kitten Cat being a prize pain of a Diva. I spread some blankets I had washed prior to putting them into the cupboard and Madam got there first. Not a chance of putting them away until she moves, which does not appear to be any time soon.

I am trying to track down a type of curtain pole for net curtains which I used in the 80s and which does not seem to be sold now. I may have to resort to a piece of thin wood with a crystal bit attached to each end because they are not available anywhere I have looked so far. Marjorydaw is going to help me to measure for the blinds and see if we can get the same measurement twice, and if we can, that is the one I shall order, giggle.

I have half the sites dressed for Easter and depending when Marjorydaw arrives the rest will follow suit either this evening or tomorrow.

Not long until Easter now so no scoffing the eggs so you have to go out and buy more!

12th April

Well another mixed day. I got the New Hoover and I can't turn the thing on. I suppose there is something I have missed but as far as I can tell I have followed instructions but it is plugged in, the electricity is on and the "on" switch is on but nothing!

Embarrassing, isn't it, when you have to phone a friend to come round and see what you have badgered up now.

For Members of What Cash, new mails are still refusing to send and I am awaiting news on what else I can do to remedy that.

Marjorydaw and I finally managed to get photos to go onto the computer. The picture quality is excellent but "Easy" it certainly ain't and I am still wondering whether I shall be able to manipulate the size of the photos. I have to agree though that the actual photo itself is absolutely wonderful, I can see every little hair of Kitten Cat's fluffy fur!

I need the light on to be able to see what I am doing but if I do that the whole world can see in here so I have to wait for Kitten Cat to end her soujourn on the window sill. If I lower the blind it will bop her on the head, and we all know we can't have that!

13th April

What an afternoon. Some people are not meant to use computers and Car Mechanic Dust Bunny is one of them. He has got into eBay and the battle of wills to get something listed is something to behold so guess who the lucky lady is who gets called upon to witness this epic struggle!

Bye bye afternoon and evening!

Today we had the epic fun of discovering how to price a parcel for Argentina and it took him a whole flippin hour to let me take over and go to the Royal Mail web site and do the job in four minutes.

The afternoon had its up side though. This morning Web Pages Dust Bunny checked the fuse etc on the new hoover and it still refused to work. Car Mechanic Dust Bunny gave the handle a whack and lo! It slid the fraction of an inch further required for the thing to work! JOY!!!!

Bottom line is I did not have the strength to click the handle in far enough.

The machine is also too heavy for me to use unless I use the tools and the hose but I don't see many problems for the first few weeks because everyone will want to play with the new toy. Car Mechanic Dust Bunny enthusiastically hoovered practically the whole flat! Get this, he enjoyed using the machine so much he wants to do it again.

You won't catch me stopping him either, giggle.

The Miele Cat and Dog is billed as being quiet and it certainly is, you can hold a conversation whilst the machine is working. Kitten Cat is not keen on it but she does not run and hide either. It also does get the hairs up superbly. So finally it went right.

Havoc has been played with my intended site work for today but I suppose not having the hassle of returning the machine and getting a replacement only to find out there was nothing wrong with the first machine sort of squares that.

17th April

All the sites except Whatcash are now more or less up to date and lots of pay outs have been made.

I have been horrendously tired and Kitten Cat and I have a new game.

I sit here and freeze, falling victim to every passing midge and gnat, whilst Madam dallies just out of reach before finally deigning to come inside. Apparently this is jolly good fun.

I have a paper shredder arriving in the week and that will take care of a lot of the old papers and there is a surprising amount of space evolving.

Of course this can only mean that I am going to have a run of visitors, because as you know as soon as I appear to be making progress I am invaded!

For the first time in many months I actually think I may be able to get back to writing! Whoo!

23rd April

My life has been going surprisingly smoothly, the weather has been wonderful and I am slowly making in roads into the accumulated boxes from the last forty years. However, as with Soap Operas when they are between major story lines, all this is very boring for my Fans so I have not been posting much these past few days.

My friend Lorraine Nancy was 54 on Wednesday and although I lost contact with her I always remember her birthday since it is so close to mine. I suppose I half hope she will google and find this entry and make contact. Stranger things have happened.

Yup, I was 54 on Friday too, but being Good Friday it was a very low key affair.

Much more fun when I was born, just four minutes after Easter Sunday, and I had two birthdays through most of my childhood since Easter Monday does not fall this late very often.

What a weekend, though. My birthday, St George's Day today and then Easter Sunday tomorrow. Whoo!

However, I am saving myself for the Royal Wedding next Friday, when Marjorydaw and I are going to have a small buffet and watch the wedding on TV.

Wishing you a wonderful St George's Day and a serene and happy Easter Sunday,

24th April

He is Risen!

Those three words bring such joy today and are being exchanged by Christians all over the world.

The weather is for once in accord with this joy, an absolutely beautiful day.

Happy Easter to one and all.

26th April

Well, a hectic time getting the sites spruced up and now we have the bombshell that in the real world they will after all be replacing the boiler and ripping out fireplaces and here we go again.

Boxland!

The bed has once again to be dismantled and everything in the bedroom and half the stuff from the lounge to be squeezed into about one third space of the bedroom. Happy Days I do not think.

The only one happy about this is Kitten Cat who is having a grand old nosy time. She won't be so frisky when the work is actually being done but at least she has Computer Web Pages Dust Bunny and can always nip into his flat for sanctuary.

Argos do not have any bug busters for home delivery so tomorrow I am off to The Town to get one, before the midges nibble me to pieces.

Today is the eight anniversary of my Mother's passing and I shall be lighting a candle for her tonight. Margaret Jean Stock Tomkinson was the best Mother in the world, I still miss her and I reckon they needed someone up there to keep the cherubs in check.

28th April

We are back to what is normal. We have had egs thrown at the upstairs flat, all the egg has run down my windows and when I attempted to clean the part I could reach more egg dripped down onto my hair so when Kitten Cat finally condescends to come in I have to wash my hair. Without drowning myself.

The system whereby these things are reported is very long and has taken up a lot of the evening and although I am not complaining about the process it has really messed up my careful programme of getting ready for tomorrow.

I am sure I shall be ready but I do rather wish they had decided to get married in the afternoon, I really do.

On the bright side Whatcash ad manager is now hunky dory and the upgrades have all been updated so once the redesign is complete that will be that for a while. It has been a long haul but finally the site is perking up.

What will be the last on my home improvements, a small cream ottoman to balance out the large one, arrived today and now Kitten Cat has the most exquisite dlimma when she is in. Which one should she claim to cause the maximum disruption to moi?

2011

1st March

White Rabbits! Yet another month has started and we are still freezing cold!

Also Dydd Gwyl Dewi hapus - Happy St David's Day!

I am a little in arrears with the sites so instead of my customary St David's Day quiz I shall do a combined St Patrick's and St David's Quiz for March. There is something to look forward to.

The Season starts today at the Coast and again I am missing it. I would like to wave a magic wand and be there, I can tell you.

It would have to be in Kent though, I am a Kentish Maid through and through.

Kitten Cat fell from the back of the sofa where she must have been dozing and she has virtually dislocated my shoulder, horrible crunch but it all seems in the right place now, and she is giving me the death stare as if it were all my fault! Typical feline logic but happily she is totally unharmed.

3rd and 4th March

What a day yesterday! I had a slow start because my joints were too stiff to be able to do much and then my wonderful hairdresser arrived, a total surprise to me as I had put the appointment onto the wrong week of the calendar . . .

She had just returned from Pathos where she had attended the wedding of a friend and had indeed accompanied the Mother of the Bride.

Having herself been the Mother of the Bride last year she was well equipped to deal with her friend and the wedding was superb. She also had a lovely week site seeing in Pathos, so lots of photos for me to look at on Facebook.

She had hardly left when Honey and Chaos breezed in for a cup of tea and ended up staying until nearly midnight, which was wonderful for me since I have been missing them an awful lot.

I could not get online because their internet does not connect until next week so they caught up on all their mails, but I understand there were server issues yesterday in any event, so this all worked out well.

In the evening we went to Hobbycraft and Pets at Home. I got one of the LED lights I wanted for the top tank so that I can see the zebra fish, and of course, as you know, I rarely leave without more fish.

I got two fish, the tupe I am not sure of since Chaos has waltzed off with the receipt but they went into the top tank with the A Team. I call them that because the four zebras are so similar and so nippy it is impossible to name them accurately. However the two new fish are longer and different so they are Romulus and Remus.

The effect int he tank is good because the A Team were really only using about a third of the tank but now they follow the big guys and they literally go all over the tank.

Jaws has been all alone since we lost Troilus so I got a red and white Comet to keep him company. Cost a lot more than I have ever paid for a goldfish, but naturally the fish had to be a fair size so that Jaws will not eat it. However, she is dwarfed by Jaws so I have named her Toots. Thankfully they are getting along very well and both seem happy to be in the same tank.

I asked how Pocahontas's fish were doing and there was bad news from there. All but one of them died, so I suggested they check out the supplier. It is common to lose the odd fish due to the trauma of transportation but cold water and temperate fish are fairly hardy and to lose most of them implies a problem at supply or with the tank and since Chaos set it up I know the tank was fine.

What happened to the survivor? Kitten Cat's sister ate her!

I am looking into acquriing locks for the lids of my tanks. So far, due to her absolute terror of water, Kitten Cat has not attempted to touch any of the fish, but in view of the sibling behaviour you cannot be too careful!

I enjoyed a tootle round the ground floor of Hobbycraft but could not find pot pourrai which is what I wanted to buy. When we were in the car Honey informed me that the pot pourrai is upstairs . . .

We had a grand chip meal and then quite late in the evening the mobile phones yipped into life and PAL was demanding what time they intended heading back . . .

I had to leave the room because I was choking with laughter. You just cannot keep the old boy down!

Happy St David's Day

2nd March

Well finally the Great Exodus of lovely items for which I have no room has started, although eBay was very slow and I only got on two items, both bottles of nice perfume, and I decided to hold back a marble mortar and pessle because the thing is so impossibly heavy it will cost a fortune in postage. Have to think of another way for that to wing its way out.

We are horribly cold here, even Kitten Cat did not brave the Great Outdoors for very long and was plonking her freezing little paws on me to warm up.

I am just starting site stats for all sites and then the next contest will be going out and the winners of the January and Feburary contests will be awarded their prizes.

So a hectic and busy day in between the micro sleeps!

5th, 6th and 7th

Wow, shopping really totals me these days! It has been all I can do to check some sites.

Back on more like form today and clicking like a train.

We are still terribly cold here but this morning there was the most glorious sunshine, and through the windows it felt as though Spring had sprung, but I am not silly enough to go outside to find out how cold it really is.

I have got watchers on most of my eBay items but whether these will convert to buyers is anyone's guess.

Marjorydaw is back from the coast where I understand it was about twenty degrees colder than it is here so I reckon they were lucky the sea did not freeze. However the holiday season in the UK has officially opened.

8th March

Shrove Tuesday but I had my pancakes yesterday as due to dear doctor I am fasting this evening ahead of tomorrow's visit to the "Vampires". Actually I feel quite ill so it would be good if the reason did show up and I could get a bit of shake, rattle and roll back, I can tell you.

I sold both bottles of perfume on eBay so that is two items tootling out of here tomorrow because in addition to the Vampires I am being taken to the Post Office to get those into the mail.

I have watchers on my other items too so so far I am winning my battle with my sweet Little Brother who offered to pay for a skip to help me to offload things. Heh heh.

9th and 10th March

Well I had the blood tests but I did not get the MacDonalds as money too tight, ick.

Honey and Chaos spent all day with me and I made a lurverly stew which we all enjoyed and I even sent some home to PAL.

I don't know what Honey does to this machine but it took me three hours to get it to work today. Obviously I did not get a look in on the computer yesterday because theirs is not on line yet. However, I get &¦163;50 of Marks and Spencer vouchers next month so if any of you are considering transferring to Sky do let me know, I just LOVE getting vouchers for introducing people!

Three of my eBay items sold and the other 2 are back up for grabs. I found some more stuff to go on, is just a little matter of that elusive factor, time.

It does not help that I am having to reunite worms with their families on about a half hourly basis as Kitten Cat's love for me overflows into wriggly presents!

I have paid a few of my members today which will move me up a few notches on their Christmas card lists, and am nearing pay out on some more sites which will further enhance my status as a gold granting goddess, giggle.

11th and 12th March

Marjorydaw came round last evening so I did not get onto the blog as we had a great girlie night and sorted out some more clutter.

Best of all she bought sausage and chips from the chippie and they were absolutely first rate!

Not to be outdone I made a Victoria type sponge and wonder of wonders it actually rose! That does not happen often, I can tell you.

It was asbolutely delish and she took a chunk home for the next day, so it must have been good!

Today I made a couple of Yorkshire puddings, one for the freezer and one for me. Had a near miss at dropping one on my foot but it landed right and no harm done to pudding or foot, thank goodness. Some more objects of desire have made their way onto eBay and I am going to be making another pay out to a lucky member on one of the sites, so that will cheer one person up this fine weekend.

Two people who are not cheered up, along with a few thouseand more, are Chaos and Honey. Their telephone line was installed on 10th March and about four hours later somebody stole seventeen MILES of telephone cable so they and everyone in their area is without phone or internet.

Unbelieveable!

Apparently there is a lot of copper in the wires and that is what the thieves were after. Never mind the disruption and inconvenience, not to mention threat to life of any frail person who requires and ambulance.

It could take two weeks or more to get the lines replaced.

13th, 14th and 15 March

I must stop having all this excitement around me because it tires me right out. Hot on the heels of one couple getting a lovely new home my Stepson and his intended also have a new home, and what's more it is on my old stomping ground in my home village so I know as much about the layout as they do, giggle.

There is such a whirl of excitement all around and people trying to locate things they have mislaid and myself trying to locate things which might do them a turn, it is more like Casey's Court than the Hotel California at the moment.

Kitten Cat also finds it all just toooooo exhausting and has taken herself off to sleep on the bed, having first scuffed all my new duvet cover and blanket beneath her, naturally.

Little tip you probably don't need. If your TV set will not work try changing the batteries in the remote because it does help if these are not flat.

Second little tip - do not allow anyone under twenty years of age to be the one who witnesses you bcoming more and more frustrated with the TV and then discovering the flat batteries.

Too much laughter really is not good for them, honest it isn't. 16th March

Another day with very little energy and Kitten Cat decided I was going to get out of bed using her irresistable trampoline routine.

Marjorydaw is coming round later for a girlie session and we may try to price up some of the vintage books. We will more likely get to the corner shop for some goodies though, girls being girls, giggle.

17th March

Happy St Patrick's Day

I have not been able to indulge in a tipple as i have more medical tests tomorrow but I do hope that those of you more free to imbibe raised a glass for me.

On a more sombre note we said goodbye to Cousin Frank today, and considered a long life during which he made lasting friends and loving relationships along five generations, bless him.

I did not get as much done on the sites as I should have wished as I used my current policy of Carpe Deum to nab a friend who was unlucky enough to call in on to me and got roped in to take me shopping.

Upon our return I had to cope with a sulking cat who had been confined to barracks whilst I was out. She then got her revenge by not returning until 8pm once she weas let out and booted a photograph from the shelf she had selected as today's fave place.

Naturally I am absolutely exhausted after shopping but at least we have a huge store of kitty treats and foods, which is after all the most important thing in this household.

I also brought some fish food but that is not noteworthy in the Kitten Cat book.

I have managed to send a St Patrick's Day card to all my members though, so something got done today!

18th March

Oh well another fun filled session with the Doc but I took down a pile of magazines for everyone else to enjoy and came back with a book for me to enjoy.

The novels of Jill Mansell really make me laugh and I got hold of "Take a Chance on Me" so that is going to be my bed time reading for the next few days.

I got a huge surprise today too. I had convinced myself I had flumped the course, so much so that I did not take out a loan for another course and what do you know. I passed!

That will teach me to have more faith in myself, so it will.

I still have a long way to go before I stop making silly mistakes or "foxxles" as my laughing Members call them, but officially I do know what I am doing!

I just watched an episode of Ghose Whisperer and it is one of those infuriating Christmas at any time but Christmas editions. I would have LOVED that story at the right time of year. I still thought it was good, but it would have reduced me to nostalgia at the right time of year.

I got a sulking cat again today because I had to go out. I am most certainly Not Forgiven, I can tell you. She has got onto the highest shelf and pulled herself into the tightest ball possible, merely glaring with one eye if I dare say her name.

She us just so cute some days!

19th March

I think Spring is trying to knock Winter into touch because we again have had the most brilliant sunshine but temperatures remain glacial.

I thought I had a whole day to work on the sites and then I got roped in to compose a twelve line letter for a friend of a friend and do you know that took three hours!

I needed a couple of facts and telephone calls flew back and forth and I got more and more conflicting information until finally the dratted thing could be typed.

True, the friend of a friend was really grateful but I didn't like the "it will be easier next time" which occurred in the last phone call. What next time??????

I was running short of milk and at least that little problem was fixed by my friend, so I suppose I won out in the end.

I am trying to make up my mind whether to take another computer course of a financial one because my business qualification was gained in 1975. Methinks business may have changed a tad since then, giggle.

I am going to put some more bits and pieces of eBay over the weekend so my wonderful Fans may like to have a paruse of those to, friends of friends pemitting.

1st February

White Rabbits! We are already in the second month!

a dismal grey day here and a cold one to boot.

Since the weather is my sole responsibility Kitten Cat has been compelled to rifle through papers I am trying to sort and ensure that anything that is sorted does not stay that way. I so need to get a web cam rigged up on that cat.

Little Lady is not far behind her because she feels that having to keep a constant eye out for the cat is an insult and she has been scattering me with seed, so who would have pets!

I feel like a wrung out dish rag and am waiting for the next small remission to hit in so that some of the chores which are mounting can be cleared.

Site wise I just have to notify of the last of the Christmas results and get the rest of the sites ready for Valentines Day then I can get back to putting items onto the shop and re-designing Whatcash.

It may be all armchair stuff but it keeps me out of mischief.

Well, most of the time, anyways, giggle.

20-24th March

I have had heaven followed by hell here.

I met my Great Niece on Tuesday and she is absolutely fantastic! I am her slave for life and that is a fact.

My Sister in Law and Niece came laden with flowers and chocolates which is always a lovely surprise and I am looking at them as I type, a fantastic mix of reds and whites.

I do not know what has been crawling up the stems of the flowers but naturally Kitten Cat finds them absolutely irresistible and keeps trying to nuzzle the flowers. In the vase . . . You just can't have anything nice when you have a cat, can you!

My visitors left and I then had an online visitor, a Trojan which my very expensive anti virus software deleted along with a vital driver. My machine will therefore have to have the hard drive wiped and all software reloaded. To say I was absolutely furious is the understatement of the century.

To make matters worse the necessary discs seem to have walked two hundred miles away in the tender care of Chaos.

I was absolutely distraught but my wonderful family have helped me to get this lovely new lap top so that I can get back online and do what I do best!

It was a right palava setting this up because Kitten Cat appropriated the box it came in and it took several attempts where I had to release her because she was stuck for her to finally realise there was no way she was going to get into a box which is only four inches wide. It was great fun watching her try though, wicked person that I am!

All attempts to access the box having failed she decided to give the lap top the most thorough once over whilst I was trying to set it up, not helpful and certainly christened the new screen with abundant Kitten Cat kisses!

To my amazement I have successfully set things up and here I am!

26th March

Well, a new computer is all very well and nice but the amount of updates etc etc etc don&¦8217;t half slow you down. Chaos usually does all this type of thing but he can hardly hack back over 200 miles just to set up a lap top so it has been up to Yours Truly but so far and fingers crossed I don&¦8217;t seem to have messed anything up yet.

The Kitten Cat used up another of her lives today. She was playing with something on the floor and I assumed it was one of her plastic bottle tops. I have spent a small fortune on toys for her but she loves these the best.

However, later on when I walked out into the kitchen I stepped on something and thought I had broken my foot. Oh the pain!!!!

Turns out she was playing with a stone which I keep beside the computer and which she had obviously purloined at some stage during the day. She knows what pain and rage sound like and she has made herself scarce. I do not harm her but I do call her a few choice words sometimes. Little horror!

The stone is something I bought because I am a sucker and it is supposed to be one which gives you more get and up go and staying power. I don&¦8217;t know whether it works but I do roll it around in my palms every now and again and if nothing else it has a very soothing and cooling effect.

I have also been trying out a new perfume, &¦8220;Femme&¦8221; by Boss and Kitten Cat likes it very much, so let&¦8217;s hope the two leggeds feel the same way.

For those members of my sites who think I have gone away, nope, you don&¦8217;t lose me that easily. Just been trying to get this machine up to speed so I can work on the sites.

27th March

I know I am lucky to have this lovely laptop but I am really missing the speed of the tower. Added to the fact that the Ratbags did not remind me that the clocks went back last night and I have spent most of the day wondering why the TV programmes are out of sync and that it took two hours to do my ASDA shop I am well and truly later than the White Rabbit.

However,30th March

Well this flare u is certainly slowing me down and Marjorydaw came round tonight to give me a hand with a few things.

It has been a quiet few days apart from Kitten Cat having a field day because she knows I have even less chance of catching her whilst I am hobbling about. She is one happy little pussy cat who is currently UNDER all the bedding, so I suppose it must be rather cold in here tonight.

So a boring few days for you but never fear, Foxy Lady will be at her rib splitting best very soon.

there have been benefits of the turning back of the clock in that we had light until nearly eight o clock and Kitten Cat is very very happy about that. The window does not close until darkness approaches as I do not like her outside when it is dark.

She is snoring her little head off now, not three inches from me on the sofa and all tuckered out.

I am going to tootle off to the sites now and see how far I can get before I get mugged by The Sandman.

28th March

Well I am in trouble today and can hardly walk. I woke with extreme pain behind both heels and would welcome a zimmer frame, the walking stick is not enough. The right foot is getting easier but the left is becoming intolerable even when resting and if a suspicious looking set of paw shaped bruises appears on my leg I am sleeping in a suit of armour from here on in.

I have filled in my Census form and Marjorydaw will post that when she comes round. There is a £1,000 fine for failing to fill in this document but I bell they don't get half of them back, if the postal service to this block is anything to judge by.

Our regular postman is superb but when he is on vacation the service goes to pot.31st March

Lady Luck continues to have a fine game with me.

I have only just finished placing items into the glass case and now they all have to come out again and be packed in case they get broken as the cabinet has to be moved at the weekend to allow my new washing machine access to the kitchen.

So there am I overjoyed at the early birthday present and then it sinks in I have to virtually rejig the entire flat to get the thing in place and - wait for it - get rid of the blankety blank bleep bleep machine from Hotpoint which has not worked properly and which they would not replace. Hip hip hooray!!!

I am having a Beko this time and I am very satisfied with their after sales service with the freezer so hopefuly things will run smoother with this machine. Heavens, it may actually work, too!

The entire cabinet surrounding the machine has to be taken apart, the machine has to be disconnected and the machine removed to the garden since the carriers will connect the new one and take the old one away but they won't take it from the kitchen to the garden.

Since Chaos is at the other end of the country some lucky person is going to be getting a begging phone call tomorrow, giggle.

I shall also have a very irritated cat since she detests upheaval, now isn't that something to look forward to - not!

Hopefully by Saturday evening the fragrance of tropical flowers and ylang ylang (washing powder) will be wafting around the flat and I shall begin to get a little order around here.

I managed to make another couple of pay outs to members today so that is two more happy bunnies.

Onwards and upwards!

2nd-5th February

Well, I have been around, checking the mails etc but I have had a bad relapse to the old days of not being able to do much and I would be bored out of my skull if I could stay awake for long enough, sigh.

We have had days of howling gales around here so I have a fractious cat who is now hell bent on eating the bird. Since I can not guarantee staying awake poor birdie is confined to barracks in the bathroom for her own safety when I am home alone.

She was allowed out of the cage last evening and promptly pecked Chaos, so she blames him for me being home alone and for her incarceration. Sometimes you just have to laugh, don't you!

6th February

A relatively busy day today whilst awake.

Tracked down a lot of my missing belongings which was quite satisfying and Father's photo now presides over the lounge once more.

Kitten Cat escaped during the evening which led to a couple of worrying hours until she sauntered back. Pets are not always safe at night round here and she is not a night cat, however much she would like to be.

She has now taken up residence on my lap so that curtails this log in that typing one handed and trying to keep a grip on a keybaoard which is being head butted does not make for an easy life.

7th-9th February

I have not been on line much as I am not feeling too Foxy at the moment, having a relapse of this illness.

However, I have been checking the mails to see who has mailed, and sending out mails, and hope to get back on form soon.

10th-15th February

Well there are some nasty bugs about and this one has coincided with my Carers relocating. The triple whammy is that they have taken Little Lady with them because I can not guarantee I can stay awake and she could be eaten by Kitten Cat.

Oh yes, and Troilus the comet died on Monday too. So it has been a bit of a yukky time.

However, onwards and upwards and send out the winners of the recent competitions and then make up the March competition.

16-18th February

February has not been much of a month for me so far. BT repaired the telephone in the upstairs falt and did something to my line which meant no internet or phone for the best part of two days.

Taking this on top of a flu type virus and my carers having relocated this week you could say it is rather a yuk week all round.

As the song says Things Can Only Get Better!

19th February

Well today added another little fly into the ointment of trying to get on - power cuts! Short but effective in faffing up the computer.

Web Pages Dust Bunny is not amused, either.

Kitten Cat got soaked and decided to dry herself off on my new duvet cover. doesn't it make you just despair when you can see them do it but can't get to them before the damage is done!

22nd February

Well another attempt at getting into a routine and kicking flu out of the window. Let us see if it works this time.

I can then make a full return to the Land of the Living and have some interesting things to post to amuse you.

I feel unbearably hot but the temperature must be on the cool side because there is a lump under the duvet where she is snoozing. One has to be very careful not to just flump onto the bed, but it really is difficult to know whether she is actually still under the duvet or whether she has just left a little mound there to return to.

24th February

My Carers returned yesterday to help a bit with getting straight following their departure, and in the event they were here all day and evening so absolutely nothing got done online apart from the fact that they totally went through the security and clean up of the machine and it now whizzes once more.

I have to apologise to my Fans, due to flu, server problems, phone line problems and power cuts I have not been around too much. I am just hoping I am getting it all out of the way in two horrible weeks.

A good sign is that it is now 4.30pm and the room is still light and looks to be good for a couple more hours, so Spring is on its way.

Today was Tuna Day so I have a stuffed Kitten Cat snoozing on the bed. She absolutely loves tuna and would eat it as a sole food if she had half the chance. I ration her to a tin every few weeks and then she has to suffer (premium) cat food and like it, giggle.

25th February

Still shivering away the remnants of flu but here is something more upbeat.

My current absolute favourite TV advertisement is one where a bemused woman arrives home to find several holes in her lounge wall. Her proud and estatic spouse says "watch this", whereupon a cat blasts through the wall leaving another hole.

Typical cat and only a man . . .

However, the name of these seemingly irresistable treats is "Dreamies" and such is the power of avertising that I added a pack to my online shopping order.

Well done ASDA. Somewhere in Kent a cat is receiving an unexpected treat of Dreamies in place of their usual Whiskas Temptations! I have left the pack to one side in case the delivery person (who was perfect in every other way) returns to do the swap.

It just goes to show though that however powerful the advertisement there is no guarantee that there will not be a muck up further down the chain!

Kitten Cat is currently curious and faintly pleased with my other purchase for her. I am tired of throwing biscuits away because they have become soggy and I have pushed the boat out and bought a dual compartment dish.

I wish I had had a cam corder to record her puzzled little face as the sensitive nose edged between moist food and biscuit, seeminly wondering if the dish were booby trapped. Hilarious!

Since both compartments are now empty I presume she surmounted her fears, giggle.

26th February

More hilarity here today. I had a lot of recycle material which I could not fit into the bins since they were full and Mechanic Dust Bunny got INTO the dustbin and stamped the paper down to make room for the rest and clear things for me!

What a sight!

I am recovering nicely from my chest infection and find that several other web mistresses have also been ill, so it seems a global thing with flue and bugs.

Hopefully I shall be getting the sites ready for St Patrick's Day and you will see their new banners and images for that.

Sunday tomorrow and I shall be reading my favourite Sunday paper, The Mail on Sunday, courtesy of the wonderful Web Pages Dust Bunny!

Happy New Year

We made it! 2011 is here and the party is still going on. Fireworks galore all around the world and lots of families seeing the new year in together.

As ever, I watched Jools Holland and his Hootenany and some of it was dire and a lot of it was excellent. I just topped my glass up during the dire bits so thank goodness they were few and far between.

A few minutes after midnight I wished my Mother a happy birthday, which is a family tradition, and then I toddled out to let in 2011 and boot out 2010. I love booting out the old!

Kitten Cat has expanded her present giving to placing earthworms in my shoes, which I discovered when trying to put my shoes on for the aforesaid booting out. Cats have absolutely no sense of occasion do they, sigh.

Wherever and however you are celebrating today I wish you and your family a truly peaceful, healthy and happy year.

2nd and 3rd January 2011

New year but still as busy.

Last night I thought I would treat myself to a few games of bingo, and found that I could not get the console to download. The reason for this was that Chaos, in his wisdon, had disabled the gaming mode of the anti virus programme!!!

I managed to sort that and away I went and in the ensuing lively discussion as to WHY I wanted to play bingo on MY computer at some point I won &¦163;15 but was so busy with the discussion I missed the moment!

At any rate that is my bingo paid for for the next few months so all is well that ends well inthat department.

I am stills earching for the images to go onto the WhatCash redesign and still battling the camera to make it product clear and shart photos for the shop items.

Here follows an adverse weather warning for the weekend, for the whole of the North West Kent. It will be my first attendance at the family history group which I have joined. It entails getting into a car and being driven . . . SNOW is naturally forecast from the Friday evening.

Get in your supplies of bread, milk at water now!

4th January

We are slowly creaking back to whatever is normal. The post is very late, but that is not surprising with the back log which they must have.

My own post actually made it into the box today so there is a chance of it getting there before the closing date for the contests I just entered. I can not wait to get the mobility scooter so I can post my own mail, I can tell you.

It isn't my day on eBay either as someone else fell in love with the same tunic I did and bid more than I am willing to pay. I don't see the point of buying on eBay if it is going to cost me more than buying in a store. The only exception is with a vintage item, something I can not easily get elsewhere. I am still ratty about losing out in the auction though.

Since the TV is being drowned out by the combined snores of Kitten Cat and Little Lady (how DOES a small bird manage to make that much noise?!)there is nobody suffering my rats.

Site wise I have started the redesign for WhatCash and am sorting out the Hobby Room on Cashfold so that I can run a special on room clicks there.

All Christmas contests end at midnight on 6th January 2011 so if you have not made your guesses and answers yet now would be a good time to avoid the rush.

5th January 2011

Another extremely cold day here, made even colder by the fact that a ball of fur who shall be nameless insists on being able to access her garden, sigh.

Mechanic Dust Bunny has been here most of the day sorting out problems with his mobile phone and computer so not a lot of useful work has got done around the flat.

However, I am quite excited because I have been able to add a mini upgrade for all active members of my site at Foxden, which may encourage more people not only to join but to read ads as well, which will be good.

I also managed to track down a user manual for the camera so I can figure that out myself now and do not have to wait for anyone to show me how to use the thing.

Since I wanted to take a photo of the tree and it must be dismantled tomorrow it is rather good timing to discover the manual.

I am also getting rather good at the sorting and throwing lark, as I have some space and some items to put together as job lots of eBay - another reason why the camera is now absolutely essential.

Once everyone wends their merry way tonight I shall sit up for about an hour and practice taking shots of the tree then tomorrow all the clutter - ooops I mean, highly desirable kitchen implements - can be batched up for eBay.

6th January

A rainy day today, the duck pond minus ducks is back in the road and Kitten Cat has reached new heights of spite regarding my inability to make the rain stop!

She did go outside for a few minutes then dashed back inside to dry herself thoroughly on the sofa, the little horror.

I then had to hunt downthe hair dryer to dry the sofa.

Marjorydaw came round tonight and we had a catch up of our Christmas news and a mad dash to get the Christmas tree undecorted and away since today is Twelfth Night when all must be removed to ensure good luck for the coming year.

"Superstitious Piffle" I can hear some of you say. You may well be right but after the last few years of luck I need to take every precaution to cultivate any little grain of good luck which comes my way.

The space cleared by the removal of thre tree was filled within two and a half minutes by You-Know-Who.

I am not too sure what is happening around here but things (whisper this) seem to be going very smoothly and space is actually materialising, making room for all those new things to come into my life and make this blog so much more interesting for you.

7th January 2011

Just a quick visit today to let members of my sites know I am having a bad day with my rheumatoid illness so if they do not get mails today, that will be the reason.

8th January 2011

Yesterday was a wipe out as far as any sort of activity was concerned and I am gradually getting some activity back.

I watched the darts on the television and thoroughly enjoyed the two semi finals, the final being tomorrow, so you probably won't hear much from me then either. I shall be screeching "180" and arrrrgggggh!

Kitten Cat continues to be totally convinced that the very best present she can give me is an earthworm tenderly hidden in my shoe and I continue to explain to her that this is not the best route into my affections.

I shall be trotting round removing the Christmas contests from the sites and putting the January contest on them next week.

Honey is here with me and we were having a marvellously calm and girly weekend but Chaos worked his magic and sent Car Mechanic Dust Bunny to us with a problem computer. Don't you just love the man!

9th and 10th January

We are having a hectic time here and for some reason we have had lots of visitos and had a very near miss at acquiring four kittens. Fortunately someone else stepped in and rehomed them, or Chaos would have bought them here as a temporary meassure.

A member of the family had such a severe allergy to cats that she had been hospitalised because of the breathing problems caused so the kittens (nine month old kittens, not really small ones) had to be rehomed and the whole house deep cleaned before the hospital will allow the lady home again.

I did remind Chaos that this is the Hotel California not a zoo, but we all know how soft I am where animals are concerned and that they would indeed have been headed here.

I still feel quite faint at the thought of four little furry bodies hurtling round this place and I am pretty sure Kitten Cat would not be happy about that either.

11th January

Lady Luck took pity on me and the four furry bodies were rehomed near to where they lived. Phew! That was a close one.

The furry body I already have was enough of a curious cat today all by herself. I was photograping a few items and her nose, tail and paws were everywhere. She had a great time and I took a lot longer to accomplish what I had set out to do.

People say I spoil her but I say what is a pet for?

12th and 13th January

There has been a whirl of activity here which totally exhausted me and I have spent much of the last 48 hours asleep.

People think it must be lovely to sleep so much and I suppose it is a lot better than a lot of things, but it is very frustrating to have so much that I want to do and sleeping so much.

I am almost in a coma and virtually impossible to wake and Kitten Cat takes full advantage, using me as a human trampolene to the immense enjoyment of my wonderful family.

I was ill just before Christmas and am just catching up on the presents now. Honey's arrived today and I did a good job of choosing so that was very nice.

I researched the item via search engines then checked to see if the cash back sites had the site as a retailer and got cash back too, which was rather satisfying.

If you would liketo get cash back on your purchases, just click the topcashback link and join up. You can also earn a few pennies every day by clicking a couple of links - it all adds up for next Christmas!

14th January

We are two weeks into the new year and I am still putting 2010 onto the dates of letters, sigh.

I know I am very tired and I might not know what day it is but I should know the year by now!

We have again been trying to sort out the computer and phone for Car Mechanic Dust Bunny. He can repair any car and practically build a car from scratch but give him a computer and you got a calamity waiting to happen!

Naturally concentration of anything else was impossible so now I have the place to myself I am rattling through taking all the Christmas icons off the sites and putting the new ones on whilst the peace lasts.

Remember to have a browse around the shop - you can access it via the side link on this site - there are are lots of little bits and pieces to cheer you up in the midst of winter.

15th January

Well the wind was certainly strong enough to blow your top knot off last night. What a noise! What a nuisance! Four cold paws and an even colder nose seeking refuge from the monster she was certain was going to burst forth from the chimney. No kidding.

Big, brave, worm chomping Kitten Cat turned into jellyfish!

She is currently removing all the tissues from the box to see if anything is lurking in there. That will please Chaos, not! I have had to interrupt typing this and get a few of the mini treats to distract her and then put the tissues out of her reach.

I have an interesting and nostaligc programme on the TV, about the London Palladium, a lot of the footage is in black and white and I just wish they would show the entire performances and not just snippets. Very restful though.

I have got the winter images onto the sites and am now working on the Valentines Quiz which should be released tomorrow.

Remember to visit the shop (accessed via the side link)or (a href="http://www.foxyladynews.co.uk/cart" target="top"> click here and be taken straight there. Lots of new bits and pieces were added this week.

Our gale force winds have returned, so I shall hurry on now to get as much done as possible, just in case the connection vanishes.

16th January

We have more winter weather but no snow. That makes no difference to fed up pussy cat and she is being a collosal pain, having sat on the power off button for the computer three times today.

Web Pages Dust Bunny picked up my mail on Sunday which was good and gives me something to look forward to when I close down here. I absolutely love the Super Sudoku and finish it most weeks.

The Valentine Quiz is almost finished, just a couple more questions to think up and then it will on the contest page.

There has been a disaster in the bathroom. Honey had a fall, grabbed at the wall and a large amount of the new emulsion rolled down and basically the whole wall will have to be repainted. The good thing is that she is unhurt.

This post would have been longer but Kitten Cat is determined not to share my lap with the keyboard, sigh.

17th January

Happy birthday to Honey and to the one and only Ms Day!

I was hoping for a third birthday today but I have not heard anything so I suppose the new arrival in the family is taking her sweet time. I get all excited every time the phone rings then the caller ID tells me it is yet another cold call, sigh.

We have had a horrible day here - wet, wet, wet.

Ideal worm gathering weather in fact. I am seriously thinking about selling wormeries, so many are being brought in.

I am looking into fitting a camera in the room so that I can see if she brings anything in and where she puts in because worms in shoes are not good and everyone is getting fed up with these little presents.

I am still working on the Valentine's Day quiz but worms don't exactly make me feel romantic!

My fan club is estatic about the little presents I am getting, so at least I am bringing sunshine into some lives.

18th January

She has been outside so it is not a protest. It is not even spring, so I am out of ideas as to what is wrong and using my walking stick just to get around the flat and keep my balance.

Whoever said that pets reduce stress has not met my lot!

As you know, I also have a golden mantled Rosella and she is in the lounge with me during the day. Every now and again Kitten Cat gets the misguided idea that the birdie may be a tasty snack and birdie has found a good way of protecting herself.

Kitten Cat absolutely hates water, particularly when it showers onto her head, and Little Lady shoots beakfulls at her every time she is spotted within range. Very funny and very effective!

I am having a lazy day because I am still not recovered from the last set back and I have acquired a spreading bruise on my leg which does not look too clever so rest is the best thing.

It did not prevent me transcribing the contents of an address book to a new book for a friend who has difficulty writing. It took me about three hours because someone has swiped my large barrelled pen! Anyway, I was making a fair job of it until the NEW address book disintegrated on me! No kidding!

It is one of those with the cards which slip into little plastic covers, fiddly in the extreme, and the plastic covers are secured by a white tape. The tape is narrow and the plastic covers have dislodged!

I shall have to get Chaos to have a try at fixing it tomorrow. I had enough problems just slipping the cards back into the plastic sleeves.

I know the type of address book I am describing is inexpensive but believe me when I need another I shall be buying a conventional hard-backed version.

19th January

Not a lot going on today as I am walking on air. Our new arrival came last night and I have entered the world of the greats. Aunt that is, and I still can not believe it.

So it is taking me longer to do everything as all information has to pass through the euphoric ether.

Mother and baby are so well they are home already.

So a very short post but an historic one!

20th January

I had arranged a nice girlie evening with Marjorydaw and would you believe it, Car Mechanic Dust Bunny arrived five minutes before she did and left five minutes before she did.

Welcome as he may be our girlie evening turned into an evening of cars, cars and more cars.

Even when we tried to discuss perfume he managed to keep on about the smell of diesel the fuel not the fragrance, sigh.

I won twenty cents on the lottery bonus ball contest over at KaersKreations forum which was quite a surprise as I am not usually lucky in that way.

Since it is a free contest and I use the same number all the time, not a bad little game.

I had a nice surprise with the electricity bill too. I have been turning off lights and unplugging unused appliances and it has paid off, with a bill well within my finances, phew!

The winter bill is always the one that worries me because let's face it we all go mad in the winter trying to keep warm and trying to dry laundry. Getting that one out of the way is a good start to the year.

I have found some really good images for the sites and for the Valentine's Quiz which is also nearly complete so all in all rather a nice week!

21st January

What a day! My computer is slow as a snail and poor old Web Pages Dust Bunny is in a near decline because his computer refuses to work at all, at all.

The screen from our computer has been back and forth across the hall like a square boomerang and the concensus is that it is the computer and not the screen which is playing up.

I am still working on the Valentine's Quiz. I have found that both St Valentine and St Patrick have very little actual fact to them and it is hard to keep finding something new, but I have done it!

The source for the range of hand made cards which were to have been a regular line on the shop has let me down so I am on the search for a new source. Not an unpleasant task, trawling through hand made cards, luvvit!

22nd January

Oh my goodness me. I thought I was getting on too well and today some lovely, honest members of my Cashfold site informed me gleefully that I had sent out a couple of five dollar clicks. It was definitely a purple kittens moment, I can tell you.

The beautiful Valentines Day quiz I have finished has been sidelined in the name of checking I haven't done anything else silly!

It is mayhem here. PAL came along bright and early to redecorate the wall damaged when Honey had a fall, and promptly fell asleep on the sofa. Someone out there is definitely having a laugh.

I have got him snoring away on the sofa whilst Chaos and Honey wreck the other room whilst "packing".

Even Kitten Cat is hiding - all I can see is a tail dangling down from the window sill, the rest of her is behind the blinds, giggle.

23rd and 24th January

Well what a weekend!

PAL was supposed to strip the damaged emulsion from the bathroom wall so that it could be re-painted but in the event he was rooted to the sofa, welded to the TV remote, staged a sit in so that he could stay overnight and not a molecule of work was carried out in the bathroom.

My loyal fans can stop laughing and taking your hats off to him!

Mutant ninja washing machine seized this opportunity to malfunction so here we go again and book the repair man. I will never buy another Hotpoint machine as long as I live!

Kitten Cat was furious that she did not have the sofa on which to lounge away the night so made herself a thorough pest all night and I bear the scars. Scratching Mummy to see if she is awake is fine but the evidence is there in the morning when Mummy wakes up!

On the plus side not only is the Valentines Page finished but I already have some entries for the contest. Also the first of the Christmas contest result pages is finished, winners notified and the winners page updated. Two more to go!

Please remember to browse the shop from time to time as some really sweet little houses and teddies have been added.

I am off now to notify all sites of the newest winners. Have fun!

25th January

I hope those of you who like your Haggis and tatties and neeps are having a grand Burns supper tonight.

I raced round and managed to get a wee quiz out to all sites, and generally am tidying up the appearance of this site bit by bit.

Back at the Hotel California Kitten Cat continues on her bid to assassinate me. she knocked me flying today, speeding in from the garden. From the soaked condition of her coat I gather that the rain came down rather suddenly and there was a lot of it. She is not a happy kitty at all.

Otherwise it has been a peaceful day and I have achieved much. A few more days like this and I shall be up to date.

For heavens sake, nobody tell the Gremlins!

26th January

OK, own up, WHO told the Gremlins???

I have had the day from you know where today and a manic cat into the bargain. I think the rain yesterday did something to her brain because she is crazy as a bag of frogs today.

The Sky magazine arrived today and they have moved all the channels around again. I think they have got themselves mixed up with a supermarket because they seem to have to move everything around just as I know where everything is, sigh.

Mutant Ninja washing machine still refuses to work so I am really going to have the mechanic out to give it a thump in the gubbins.

I can't walk straight to save my life this evening and have been falling over everything it is possible to fall over, so naturally Kitten Cat has dragged all of her toys out of her cave and placed them strategically to give the best chance of me faling and breaking my neck! Don't you just love the furry little critter!

27th-30th January

Well, ptr land is being bugged by a nasty critter from the Netherlands who thinks it is fun to badger up the servers. Nasty and spoils the fun for hundreds of people. Nuff said but now you know why I have been leaving things alone to settle and giving my lovely Host a chance.

Nothing has really changed here. Still cold. Still wet. Still chasing little miss mucky paws and her worms all round the flat.

Naturally I have a huge backlog of things to do on the sites, and we are at month end, so at least I am not bored now that things have settled.

The emulsion in the bathroom is nearly stripped of for try number two at making a new coat of paint stick to the walls.

I am enjoying on line browsing looking for a new mirrored cabinet. The last cabinet was, as you may recall, ripped to pieces by my marauding birdies, and since I had had the cabinet for the best part of thirty years it was probably ready for a change.

I fancy one of those round ones, but the storage space is severely compromised by the shape. We shall see what I eventually get. Will common sense rule or for one will I be totally frivolous?

31st January

Last day of January already. It is true what they say, the older you get the faster the time flies so if you are younger make the most of it and if you are older ditch the time wasting rubbish so that you have time for the good stuff.

OK, it is a case of do as I say and not as I do, but every little helps, giggle.

Less of a laughing matter, although we can laugh about it now, is that the lounge was filled with the smell of acrid smoke, which is quite alarming, particularly in the fact that the smoke alarm did not go beserk.

A lot of searching revealed that Little Lady has been throwing seed into the vent of the convector heater! That bird ought to be in the Olympics, she has the best aim ever.

So that is one more thing to watch and worry about, positioning the heater well out of beak range.

As I say, it was funny afterwards but it might not be funny if something does catch light so I thought I would mention this in case some of you have birds or other pets which can perform this trick. Fire doesn't take any prisoners.

I was hoping to have a good, long time on the sites thie evenings but already I can hardly raise my arms and I am having mini sleeps so I suppose I shall be forced to have a sleep and see which side of midnight I wake on.

DECEMBER 2010

1st December 2010

White Rabbits! White weather too, as I am sure you are all aware. The whole of Europe is virtually shut down by snow and this time Kent has copped it good and proper. Nothing is working from airports down to cars and there is a national request to avoid the M25 which is currently over enjoying its status as the World's Biggest Car Park.

I am immensely depressed, as ever, by the snow. It is an imprisoning thing, however pretty it looks, and it looks as if I am going to have to do most of my shopping on line this Christmas.

Sky is having enormous problems today too, so if any of my sites do not get serviced today that will be the reason, I am not going anywhere (understatement of the century!) but I am not certain as to how long I shall have a connection.

Kitten Cat has scratched my hand rather badly today, because naturally I am responsible for all things, and she is most displeased by all this snow I have allowed to fall into her garden.

I have bigger worries than her though. We still can not get any bread so I have the spectre of Chaos making bread. The mess! The Anglo Saxoning! Oh my acheing head!

2nd December 2010

Happy Birthday to my Sister who is now the same age as I am and very annoyed that the snow has stopped her birthday gallivanting and the lack of post means even cards have not come through. I still managed to make her smile with my telephone call though, at least we still have that.

The Admiral had a birthday yesterday and I understand he had better luck in having some fun.

Three days of snow and everything has ground to a halt. There has been no mail, no milk and today we did managed to get a loaf of bread. I have phoned a couople of isolated friends to check onthem and they are OK and hopefully by the end of the week things will have settled somewhat. Thankfully we are fine because my much mocked store cupboard psychosis is coming into its own.

We have had no daylight at all today and everything is pitch black, even the snow outside is not visible. Horrid.

I had planned to planned to finish writing Christmas cards and wrap prsents during this hiatus but naturally Chaos has managed to scatter these to all foru corners of the flat so that is a no start at all with everyone under my feet and grumpy with cabin fever.

If you need cheering up visit my sites and have fun with the Christmas contest which has just started, and if you are a member of my sites keep a look out for the new images on your Members page which will be links to more fun sites, starting some time next week.

3rd December 2010

Another snowed in day but the car did manage to start and a foray into the town was made. There is no fresh bread but we managed to obtain some of thse part baked loaves which finish cooking in the oven.

They also went beserk on the frozen food which would be great if the freeaer was twice as large. Hence everything is now out of its packaging and stuff in any old way. If you are a carer and the person for whom you care is partially sighted, please remember this. Without the boxes to act as some sort of signal it is nigh on impossible to find anything in a full freezer. Either everything has to be taken out in an effort to distinguish what exactly is in there, and even then this is sometimes impossible due to the frozen appearance, or one has to eat from the top down in any drawer regardless as to what one would like to eat.

I do know that there are a lot of people in the world who would be grateful to get anything to eat, and I am grateful that I have enough food. I would just like to raise awareness that sometimes help disempowers, even when that help is giving with love.

We still have no post and milk is in short supply. The whole country seems slowly to be ungrinding from its unscheduled halt but it is worrying that the authorities stated that they were prepared for this cold snap. I wonder what would have happened if they had NOT been prepared.

I made a huge of stew with dumplings today and that has gone down really well, and we are watching some DVDs because in readiness for the seasonal rush when they put 17 unmissable films on all at the same time, there is nothing watchable on TV at the moment.

Kitten Cat is still very angry with me because I allowed the snow to settle in her garden, and she is attacking the mouse at regular intervals just in case I should forget this. So far she has hit two cheat links, messed up the cpanel password and hit the power off three times. Never underestimate an unhappy cat!

4th December 2010

The thaw has set and very noisy it has been too, keeping us awake last evening, and greatly alarming poor Kitten Cat. Huge icicles fell from the gutter above and crashed onto the recyling bins outside the window. What a racket! Poor Kitten Cat judged us to be under some sort of attack and drove us all bats. All night, zzzzzzzz.

We are still perishing cold in spite of heating and my feet remain a very unattractive and rather dead looking shade of blue.

I still have members who are asking for payment in eGold, which has not been used for yonks, so if you are a member of any of my sites and see any reference to eGold please do let me know so that I can exterminate it, many thanks for that.

Most of today has been spent huffing and Anglo Saxoning over the creation of on line forms but I cracked it at last so that is one part of the exam down and I might experiment with the odd form in the real world on here too at some stage.

So a rather tame and hard working, freezing day here at the Hotel California. Tomorrow is Sunday and I am hoping the weather will be good enough for someone to go out for my Mail on Sunday and I shall chillax!

5th December 2010

The thaw may be here but it has not been strong enough to get rid of the ice and the roads are a skating rink. Kitten cat is going into the garden for just long enough to soak her paws then traipsing a wet mess back throughout the entire flat. For little paws she sure does a big job of undoing order.

I have been following the cricket and again England have had a superb innings. The coverage though is laughable. They lost the fist innings of the series and had their supporters, myself included, holding our head in our hands and wondering what on earth was wrong with our team. Since them they have batted and fielded absolutely brilliantly and those two innings have turned things round so the reporting is that the Aussies are so desperate they will be calling back 70 year old previous champion batters at this rate. Calm down boys. Every game is only as good as each ball bowled and hit. I am delighted at this turn of events, as are the rest of the England supporters, but we are only talking a few innings here, it is a bit soon to be seeing the Ashes back on English soil. Let's just enjoy the games, after all, it IS cricket.

6th December 2010

The snow and ice are still here and I have it on firm authority that it is too cold to snow. I believe it is too cold but do not believe there will not be more snow. Kitten Cat is more than annoyed with the state of affairs, she will venture outside onto the window sill but the garden can do what it wants to do, she is notsetting a paw onto that white stuff!

I was supposed to be going out today but the paths are just to treacherous. As you know, I can trip over a matchstick on carpet so skating is not my thing at all!

I have got the Christmas page onto most sites and am finishing those up later today, so if Members of my sites wish to visit their member area they will see the Christmas Fun link. Later today I am going to put out the Christmas special ads and they are special so please do keep an eye out for those also.

I have the Christmas cards ready to go for posting now, so that is one huge job completed. I am also making out the list for the "must have" Christmas stuff, which is always fun. How far have you got with your preparations? The ice filled roads are playing havoc in Kent!

If I vanish for a couple of days, the weather will be the reason, apparently there is a chance of connection loss if the weather deteriorates further.

7th December 2010

Well not a lot to report because it is sort of Groundhog Day, same as yesterday except a couple of degrees colder.

There appears to be a scam around whereby a credit agency rings up demanding money and stating that the last payment was on a certain date. Only thing is, you have no account with them and certainly have not paid them. Be very careful that the caller is who they say they are before you confirm your name and date of birth. I am. Particularly when the call is from a withheld number and they will not give me a landline number so that I can check they are who they say they are.

A friend of mine says that the con is that they pressure you into making a credit card payment (for an amount you do not owe) and then carefully help themselve to more money every month until you tumble them, so do be careful, the only peoople you want to play Santa to are your friends and family.

8th December 2010

Well we are still locked in by the snow and ice but I have to remember actually we are quite lucky. For all the "earliest and coldest winter in memory" lark which is being spouted by the press I actually remember childhood winters when the snow settled higher than the windowledges and when the whole street had to combine forces just to clear a way into the rest of the world.

Makes me feel like a right dinosaur, knowing this itss the worst winter "in memory", I can tell you.

We have more snow on the way too.

Extremes of temperature shut me down and I have had a total collapse today which is even more annoying that is normal because as you know I am trying to get that course work finished. I think what I have already done is just about a pass but there is a lot more to be done on it.

I also got two more "lodgers" today. An enormous fur rhino and an equally enormous fur bear, apparently they are "bed buddies". Quite where I am supposed to put these interlopers I am not sure but I am certain that Marjorydaw will now be amused since she has half a spare room full of my stuff, amongst which is my Shaun the Sheep, which is dwarfed by the incomers.

To cap it all off they shake the heck out of Kitten Cat, so life is going to be fun until that wears off.

Worse still, I am beginning to warm to these oversized and overstuffed cuties . . .

9th December 2010

The thaw has commenced but since we have more bucket loads of snow on the way for Monday it is not really much of a respite.

I am still waiting for Virgin Mobile to respond to my email and having become thoroughly fed up got myself an inexpensive Vodafone so I am no longer without a mobile phone.

I also have almost finished the Christmas cards, with Saturday being the planned day to take them all to the post office, ahead of any snow which may put a spanner in the smooth workings of my pre Christmas planning.

The tree will be going up as soon as I have finished the assignment and Christmas cards to me have started to arrive, which is always fun.

Less fun is the Wikileaks argument which has now led to Paypal being targetted, and which will have a very adverse effect on my ability to pay my on line bills if this nuisance continues. In the run up to Christmas small traders really do not need this extra hurdle towards making their living, they really do not.

On the lighter side of life, Kitten Cat adores the Bed Buddies and doe snot seem to realise that they were not actually bought for her. Since they are so big they can not be stored anywhere she is having a field day, dividing her attentions between the two!

10th December 2010

I might be able to go out of the flat some time in the next 48 hours, if the thaw continues, and thank heavens for that. I know I am fortunate to have somebody to take out the rubbish for me, but I do so much prefer to take it out myself, and for all these days I have had to be dependant.

Chaos and Honey bought the last box of Christmas cards to enable me to finish the Great Write and tomorrow all the cards go to the Post Office. In ten days' time the card from the one person I forgot will arrive and it will be too late for me to cover my tracks.

I think I finally managed to get the site sketch for this assessment into a form which will not cost marks, and now it is full steam ahead to finish the web pages associated with it.

I shall enjoy putting what I have learned to good use, but I am not enjoying the pressure of getting the assessment finished on time. I think that the next course will be easier in that I shall be back in the studying groove and I shall also have all the "special" pages which will be required during that course ready for the sites well ahead of time so that I can concentrate on the course and still put out lots of nice novelty pages.

11th December 2010

At last the snow is gone and Kitten Cat is a happy, wet pawed, mucky cat!

We are having a last minute jig around to make space for seasonal visitors and the extra supplies which we will get in to cater for them. All home improvements have ceased until next year.

I have started early with next years' Resolutions, one of which is to get out more, and have joined the local family history society. They have monthly meetings so that will be enjoyable and hopefully teach me more about how to trace family trees. If I am lucky Marjorydaw will be coming along too.

The Christmas cards now go to the Post Office on Monday as my Carers overslept, yawwwnnnn . . .

12th December 2010

Sunday today but certain people (yes, Car Mechanic Dust Bunny I DO mean you!) do not realise it and arrive at the crack of dawn then wonder why everyone is having a lie in, sigh.

As you can gather, not the best start to the day, but at least that I meant I got my "Mail on Sunday". I really enjoy this paper, and in particular the Soduku which has 12 instead of 9 numbers in a square and is really relaxing.

Another cause for rejoicing is that I passed the third and final computer marked assessment so now have only (hah! little word, biiiiiiiig meaning) to pass the external assessment and that is one course in the bag.

I am having no end of problems. Little problems, but lots of them. They all add up and need to be ironed out. It is satisfying to read the support forum and find that most of the little problems which I have are also annoying my fellow students.

I know that this does not help me to finish the assessment so that I can get on with the Christmas stuff on the sites, but at least it means I am not as frothy brained as I did fear I was.

I shall also have the enjoyment of finishing my Christmas shopping and getting everything ready for the big day.

One advantage of becoming so ill has been that life is so much simpler. I think more and do less. Although I can not walk very fast shopping does not take me as long as it used to because I have everything mapped out like a battle plan before I so much as pick up my purse.

I have to cut this short because we appear to have lost Kitten Cat. We know she is somewhere in this flat because the window is closed, but where we do not know and nobody has seen her all evening . . .

13th December 2010

We still do not know where Kitten Cat hides but she is well and very frisky, so that is the main thing.

Marjorydaw came round this afternoon and we discussed Christmas strategy because my carers have been terrifically busy and may not be able to do everything they normally do, so Marjorydaw and The Admiral are plan B to ensure I get everything I need.

This presupposes that the snow which is allegedly on the way from America does not arrive before I can get this shopping.

Something is not right on one of the templates for the course, and I think I am going to have to start again from the beginning as nothing I do appears to correct it. I am still more or less on course though as I want to get the web pages finished by the end of the week and then spend the weekend writing up the report, but we shall see how it goes.

As soon as the course work is sent off I can concentrate on fun pages for this site and for the pay to read sites, whee!

14th December 2010

A lazier day today because all the rush and study has got the better of me and my balance has totally gone. Kitten Cat is walking around rooms via the furniture to avoid being fallen upon!

I am comfortable now though and watching one of my favourite films, "White Christmas" and showing my age because I am sure it used to be called Holiday Inn.

My carers still have not managed to get my cards to the post office and I am hoping that they will manage this tomorrow.

We also have the fun event which is extracting the Christmas tree from within the cupboard which is behind the television set.

I may go mad this year and buy some window lights. I do like them but they are an expense for a few days a year and the houses across the street have lots of lights, and I can enjoy them by looking from here. Apparently this is a very Scroogey attitude!

I have a more enjoyable activity later, browsing on line to complete my Christmas present shopping.

15th December 2010

Ten days to go and so much to do it is untrue. Snow is heading this way and it is doubtful that all the Christmas shopping will now be possible so hopefully tomorrow there will be a trip to the post office and after that it is on a wing and a prayer.

Thanks to the modern freezer we shall not starve and that is after all the main thing.

I should be home alone for a few days which fits marvellously with finishing that assessment and nailing the thing so that I can get into Christmas mode on all the sites.

Kitten Cat jumped on the mouse today and clicked a cheat link for me, the little ratbag. Of course she has no idea what she did, but she is pretty pleased with herself all the same.

I am off now to browse TopCashBack and finish my present shopping. The great thing about shopping there is it does what it says - I get cash back for everything I buy - wtg!

16th and 17th December 2010

The connection went AWOL yet again so I was not able to post yesterday and this morning the reason for the atmospherics was very clear. All four inches of it. Cold. Wet. Horrible. Snow.

This really puts the kibosh on getting the items to the post office - last time we had bad snow the post office did not open - and also is bad news for shopping since I am about as graceful as a hippo on snow.

If you are a member of my sites please remember I am only popping in briefly every day because I am finishing the work for my external assessment of the course I am completing, and once that is done the sites will be dressed ready for the Big Day.

I am having such trouble with the pages for the exam and I am certain it is nerves. I can normally make a web site in about three hours. One page for the assessment is taking all day and then some!

I expect that wherever you are the snow is making your Christmas preparations difficult but let's remember we are lucky, we can stock pile food and we can keep warm and for most of us we have the comfort that nobody has died.

That is what my Mother always says when things get difficult and depressing. Nobody has died. It puts things nicely into perspective.

18, 19th and 20th December 2010 We are still snowed in and if any of you usually get a card from me, it is here, it is written and it is going nowhere! We are not receiving post either.

It is fortunate I had done some shopping because at the rate things are going we are not going to be able to get to the supermarket and when we do there is not likely to be much there. Our Christmas dinner is safe though, we have it all, so we are very lucky.

I have not been around much as I am still working on the exam stuff which thank the good Lord is nearly ready as I have had a bit of a funk over it. Going back to study after a couple of serious illnesses is a bit steeper curve than I expected. Should have packe da parchute, in fact!

I think I have managed a bare pass and now I am trying to add a few little gems to make sure of it. Then it is full steam into Christmas!

Make the most of the silence because the Carols begin in a couple of days, heh heh.

21st, 22nd and 23rd December 2010

Finally the course is finished and I just about am finished too. I can barely walk! The cold weather has triggered a rheumatoid flare up just when I want to be pounding the shops!

I had a lovely surprise in that my Brother visited and bought me a Treat Tower, which is five wonderful boxes which will look superb on the dresser, all tied up with the most beautiful ribbon and each box contains some goody such as truffles, fudge, mince pies etc. Absolutely wonderful and very much in my happiness box!

We have dragged the tree out ready for decoration and are trying to clear the final debris from the lounge but the problem of where to put the items not in the lounge is severe, there really is not any space in which to move things without making another area clutered.

We are lucky in that we haave most of the sweet and savoury treats for visitors out in dishes and fruit bowls and apart from the lack of festive ornamentation we are ready.

There is a slim chance of getting out tomorrow to buy gifts. I have been quite upset at not being able to get out but friends and family understand the situation an they do not want me to fall and injure myself.

The cave has arrived for Kitten Cat and at first she flatly refused to go into it but when Marjorydaw arrived I told Kitten Cat that the cave would go home with Marjorydaw and her pussy cats could have it. Well, that did the trick! She was into the cave like Flint and she did not emerge from it until Marjorydaw had gone home. Very funny indeed!

I am off now to pretty up the sites ready for Christmas and to answer the mails from my wonderful Members.
